Rosalie Dumont Gagné
Rosalie D. Gagné lives and works in Montreal. She holds a master's degree in visual arts from Concordia University. Her works have been exposed in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Europe, particulary in Marseille as part of the "Biennale Chroniques". Her research is supported by the Quebec' Arts and Letters Council and the Canada's Art Coucil. Rosalie D. Gagné's approach takes root in the phenomenology of matter and perception. Through her proposals, she is interested in the relationships between the microcosm and the macrocosm, individual and collective dreams as well as technology and nature.

Règne artificiel
"Règne artificiel" [RA IV] is a part of the corpus of "Règne artificial", a series of immersive installations through which the artist explores the border between natural and artificial life forms. In concrete terms, the works is composed of a multitude of inflatable electroluminescent cells, animated by a slight contraction-expansion movement evoking breathing. The whole thing unfolds in space like shoal of jellyfish. The presence of visitors in the artificial ecosystem leads to chain reactions that result in changes in "breathing rate" and fluctuations in light intensity. Formally inspired by organisms found in the abyssal pits, the different modules display a resolutely organic character, but are paradoxically made of plastic, then animated by means of electronic and mechanical devices.
