Anna Ginsburg
Born and raised in London, Anna Ginsburg is a filmmaker with a diverse range of talents. She specialises in combining different techniques and approaches, working across traditional hand drawn 2D, stop-motion, digital imagery and live-action.
Anna's first music video for Bombay Bicycle Club's 'How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep?' won a Bafta at the New Talent Awards. Since then Anna has received praise for her film ‘Private Parts’, which was screened at film festivals worldwide. Anna has directed two films for Selfridges and many commercials and music videos. Her short film 'What is Beauty?', released for International Women's Days 2018, which has received over 15 million hits. Her most recent film 'Ugly' was released for World Refugee Day and screened at this years Glastonbury festival.

Spinning Aubergines, Talking Genitals and the Oldest Women in on Earth
The talk will be an honest account of Anna's creative process both technical and conceptual. From her love of music video, animated documentary and the mixing of traditional and digital animation techniques to the formation of her first short film 'Private Parts'. This animated documentary (involving real voice recorded interviews are visualised as talking vaginas and penises) was a real turning point for her career. She will explain where her desire to make it came from and the process. In the summer of 2017, her little sister was hospitalised with Anorexia for the 3rd time, after 8 years of struggling with the disease. Anna Ginsburg will discuss how witnessing her struggling got her thinking about beauty ideals and examine how fast the definition of beauty changes resulting on her film for International Women's Day 2018 'What is Beauty?'. She will finish with a screening of her latest film 'Ugly'.
